Before I forget

Happy Birthday, Abraham Lincoln! I've read two books about Mary Todd Lincoln (one a novel based on her life, the other an actual biography) so I feel like I know him better than I ever did in school. I plan on reading an actual biography of Lincoln next to round out the first half of his life.

200 years. Wow! Good luck on those candles.

Lincoln? Who's that? Hmm...maybe I've been in the South too long. Well, Happy Birthday, Lincoln. Who ever you are.

My favorite was always Cashmir Pulaski day in Illinois. Not quite the same as the south forgetting to leave the 19th century, but still interesting

O, well Robert E Lee's birthday was Jan. 19. I didn't say anything because the state of Georgia celebrates it on the day after Thanksgiving.

O and just a little more information. Virginia split the holidays of Lee-Jackson Day from the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday in 2001. Seems appropriate.

Is Lincoln really 200 years old this? Wow, that's old. There should have been more of a celebration for that.

It is kind of hard to believe that the War of Northern Aggression (a.k.a. The Civil War) was just 200 years ago.

I celebrated Lincoln's and Washington's birthdays by taking the day off. I love my job perks.
