I found this "visited states" website today and it calculated what percentage of states I've been to. Including Arizona (where I am visiting at the end of this month) I have been to 17 states, or 37% of the U.S. I only counted states that I've done more than drive through and maybe stop for gas, if I add those in it jumps to 26 states, or 52%.

Yup, the west is where I haven't been much either. West of MN I have only been to California - that's pretty bad! I can't wait until Arizona!
Not counting drive throughs, i have 22 states or 43%. I'm actually prettty well distributed. It funny when i first saw your post i thought i would have about 10 but I had forgotten about a few old family trips and such. Fun site!
That's exactly what I did. I was reading the list of states and I thought "Massachusetts? I've been in Massachusetts". It was a business trip, but we spent 4 hours sight-seeing, that counts! But I never would have pulled that out if I was verbally listing states I've been to.
I have 32 states or 63%
20 states, 39% for me. All Midwest and Eastern plus Florida. Our trip to the New England states (6) really helped bring my numbers up. Iowa was a big white whole in my map. Will have to take care of that someday! If Kathy was able to count all her tropical vacations . . . .
I've been in 47 states, or 94%. However, if you exclude ones I just drove through and didn't visit anything, it goes down to 41, or 82%.
Dan - I'm still jealous. I'm hoping to hit most of them someday!
